First a bit about me. Arising in part from my career as a public policy analyst, economist, and engineer, I tend to be sometimes irrationally curious–especially about things that do not make sense to me and things preventing the world from becoming a better place. I also tend to view with a skeptical eye matters that others may view as obvious–especially positions grounded in such dark arts as complex modeling and statistical analysis. I appreciate publications presenting arguments from various points of view, so long as they seek to ground those arguments in well-researched facts. To that end, I read the Wall Street Journal, the Economist magazine and the New York Times, among other publications.
This blog is intended as a vehicle to put out into the world the thoughts that spring forth from my reading and thinking. I am hoping it will help me to organize and clarify my thoughts. If anyone reads it, that will be a bonus!
While I welcome comments, I am not currently providing a system in this web site to submit comments so that I can avoid privacy management issues and the burden of deleting spam. I do hope that you will send comments to my email address.
